For a plumbing company, most days are already busy before we even think about marketing. There are service calls to manage, customers waiting for answers, jobs that take longer than expected, schedules that change, and plenty of problems that cannot simply be pushed to tomorrow. For years, we were comfortable with that. We knew that if we did good work and treated customers properly, our reputation would take care of much of the rest.
And it did.
But eventually we noticed something that was becoming harder to ignore. People were not only finding us through referrals anymore. They were finding plumbing companies by searching online, comparing businesses, checking Google Maps, visiting websites, and deciding who to contact before ever speaking with anyone.
That made us look at Paradise Plumbing differently.
Our reputation existed in the real world, but our online presence needed to communicate that reputation too.
We Had Reached the Point Where “Having a Website” Wasn’t Enough
Our website was important, but we realized there was a difference between having a website and having a website that actually helps a business.
A customer visiting our site should not have to wonder what services we provide, where we work, or how to contact us. The information should be easy to understand, and the site should give people confidence that they are dealing with a professional plumbing company.
That was one of the reasons we decided to work with Oastreck.
We have now been working with Oastreck for two years, and during that time their work for us has covered Google Maps, Web SEO, Ads, and Web Development. Having those areas handled together made more sense to us than treating each part of our online presence as a separate project.
Our website became something we could actually use as part of our business rather than simply a page on the internet.
Google Maps Became Part of Our Reputation
Google Maps was another area we began to appreciate much more.
When someone searches for a plumber, especially when they have an immediate problem, they are often looking at local businesses first. They may compare names, locations, reviews, services, and other information before deciding who deserves a call.
That means our Maps presence is part of our first impression.
We wanted Paradise Plumbing to be represented accurately and professionally. The work Oastreck has done with our Maps presence helped us become more intentional about that part of our marketing.
It also made us realize that our online reputation does not exist separately from the reputation we have built through our work. They are connected.
If we have spent years building trust with customers, it makes sense that the online version of our company should reflect the same professionalism.
SEO Was a Longer Conversation
SEO was probably the area we understood least when we started.
We knew people searched Google for plumbing services. We also knew that simply putting the word “plumber” on a website was obviously not enough. Beyond that, there was a lot we did not understand.
Working with Oastreck gave us a more organized approach.
The focus was on making our website more relevant to the services we actually provide and the customers we actually want to reach. That was important to us because we are not interested in attracting random visitors from places we do not serve. We want people who genuinely need plumbing services in the areas where Paradise Plumbing operates.
Over time, we became much more comfortable with the idea that SEO is not a one-time adjustment. It is ongoing work that supports the website and helps keep the online side of the business moving in the right direction.
Advertising Gave Us Another Route to Customers
The other major part of our work with Oastreck has been advertising.
Paid advertising is different from organic search. With Ads, there is an opportunity to put the business in front of people at the point when they are actively looking for a service.
That can be particularly relevant for plumbing.
People do not always plan their plumbing problems. A leaking pipe, blocked drain, water heater issue, or another problem can suddenly become a priority. When that happens, the customer is likely to search for help immediately.
Having Google Ads as part of our marketing gave us another way to participate in those searches.
We also liked that advertising was not being handled as an isolated activity. It connected with the website and the rest of our online presence. Someone seeing an advertisement should be able to move to a website that represents the same company properly.
That consistency matters.
Two Years Later, We Understand Our Marketing Better
After two years, I think the biggest change is not one particular website update or one Google Maps improvement. It is that we understand the online side of Paradise Plumbing much better than we did before.
We no longer think of our website as something we simply need to have.
We no longer think of Google Maps as just an address and phone number.
We no longer think of SEO as a mysterious collection of keywords.
And we do not see advertising as simply paying for attention.
We now see all of these things as different parts of the same process. Someone has a plumbing problem. They search. They find a business. They look for information. They decide whether that business appears trustworthy. Then they make contact.
Our job has always been to deliver the service once that customer calls. Our work with Oastreck has helped us pay more attention to what happens before the phone rings.
The Work Still Comes First
At the end of the day, we are still a plumbing company.
No amount of SEO or advertising can replace good workmanship. A customer remembers whether we communicated properly, whether we respected their property, whether we solved the problem, and whether they felt they were treated fairly.
That will always be the foundation of Paradise Plumbing.
But we have learned that a strong business also needs a strong way to introduce itself to people who have never used its services before.
Our two years with Oastreck have helped us build that side of the company through Maps, Web SEO, Ads, and Web Development.
We appreciate the fact that the process has been about building something that supports the business we already have, rather than trying to make us into something we’re not.
For us, that has been the real value.
We have a better online presence, a clearer understanding of how customers discover us, and a much more deliberate approach to the way Paradise Plumbing is represented online.
And while we will always be happiest solving plumbing problems rather than talking about marketing, we are glad someone is making sure the digital side of our business keeps up with the real one.
